British Airways is introducing free quick onboard internet through Starlink agreement

Travelers on the airline are set to use quick connectivity in the air free of charge following a new deal involving the billionaire's communications firm.

Free and High-speed Connectivity for All

The carrier revealed that the free, “reliable and lightning-fast” internet provision from the satellite provider will be accessible for customers in coach, business, or premium cabins as of soon.

Expanded Deployment Across Several Flight Operators

The umbrella company of the airline, IAG, stated it had secured an agreement with the satellite firm to provide wifi services across 500-plus planes within its carriers, including the Irish airline, Iberia, and Vueling.

Smooth Wifi starting at Gate to Landing

British Airways noted that the rollout of the system formed part of a £7bn “upgrade” program and will offer lag-free internet coverage for passengers starting at boarding through arrival, even when in flight above seas or isolated areas.

Travelers will be able to link several electronics while do not need a separate login.

“Gamechanging for British Airways and our customers, improving onboard service onboard with us by offering customers seamless connectivity throughout the flight.”

Current Internet Services

Limited wifi service is presently available to BA passengers through most of its jets via their .air platform.

Members in BA’s reward scheme can send messages plus text-only correspondence during flights free of charge, while passengers wishing to access music, video, and content throughout the journey who are not travelling in premium cabins might be charged from four pounds ninety-nine to twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for one internet plan.

This news comes shortly following mobile phone carrier another UK company revealed it was working alongside SpaceX to boost cellular connectivity in rural parts in Britain, letting customers to automatically connect phones via satellites if there is no regular network coverage is available.
